Testimonials / Letters - Letter 31Dear Grant We spoke on the phone in May when I rang to inform you of how thankful I was for wearing a pair of Draggin Jeans when I was involved in a solo bike accident. Mr partner Jennie was having some problems with the rear end of her VFR 750 twitching in the wet. As she was not feeling well I went on a solo ride to get a feel of the bike after a few adjustments to the suspension settings had been made. Our usual quick ride is through the Numinbah Valley west of Surfers Paradise over the NSW boarder into Chillingham and back home over the Tomewin Range. I came around a bend and was faced with a car in the middle of a one lane bridge. I applied the brakes, as I would on my own VFR 750, and the rear end broke out. I had no option but to control the slide and hit the armco rail sideways. My leg took the full impact and broke Tibia and Fibula just below the knee. I was still able to lay the bike down on the right side after bouncing off the rails. I skidded on by hip and arse for some distance still attached to the bike - however, once rested, my leg was entangled in the bike. The splintered Fibula caused a compound wound when people who were giving me assistance, tried to untangle my leg from the bike. The doctors who attended to me at the Gold Coast Hospital Emergency stated to Jennie how surprised they were that there were no more serious injuries to any part of the body especially the skin as they would’ve expected. I’m telling you, there was not another scratch on me. This I put down to a bit of God given luck and Dragon Jeans. My recovery is slow, I’d hate to think what it would have been like had skin grafts, or the like, been part of my recovery. Thanks to Dragon Jeans. I have returned the jeans as per our telephone conversation (all damage done to the jeans was due to Nurses and surgeons having to cut the jeans from my body), and hope the offer from you of a replacement pair for $100 still stands. I haven’t stopped raving to other riders of the benefits of a pair of Draggin Jeans and shall wear my next pair with much appreciation and comfort knowing what I know.
